Welcome to another article around a day in the life of a Deliverr employee. This series is meant to provide an idea of what it’s like to work at Deliverr, from the perks to the culture. Check out our last article featuring Account Executive Lauren Lewis.

Today we’re pulling back the curtain to give you a glimpse into a day in the life of Deliverr Product Manager, Jessie Won. Jessie has been with us since May 2020, and works to improve our merchant tools and manage important projects to improve the Deliverr experience.

What did you do before coming to Deliverr?

I was finishing up my engineering degree at the University of Waterloo, and my most recent internship was as a Product Manager at Credit Karma (now Intuit). Before that, I worked as a Product Designer at PlanGrid (now Autodesk).

How did you first hear about Deliverr and the job opening?

A good friend of mine had actually interviewed with Deliverr for the same position, and recommended that I check out the job and company because he thought it would be a good fit and cool opportunity. I went through the interview process, learned more about Deliverr and it turns out he was right!

How is working in a remote environment at Deliverr?

As good as it can get, I think! Definitely not the same as being in person and working with other team members, but we do a lot of fun virtual team building events to make up for it. I think since Deliverr was already used to having some employees remote, it was a pretty smooth transition for everyone. Plus, we all are very communicative throughout the day and meet as a company at least once a week.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I think the best part about being a PM is that every day is a little different. I think the only consistent thing day-to-day is a standup meeting with my team every day at 11 a.m. PST.

I like to front-load my day and spend most of the morning and early afternoon in meetings. Depending on the day, this can include presentations, design and engineering reviews, and customer interviews.

When I’m not in meetings, I’m generally working on planning the roadmap for our team and prioritizing and defining requirements for different features.

What’s the BEST part of working for Deliverr?

I like that I truly feel like I’m making a difference at the company and for our customers. All the projects we’re working on are so meaningful and impactful, and being able to work on a product that has an opportunity to change the eCommerce industry is very exciting!

What is your favorite perk at Deliverr?

Unlimited vacation, where you can and are actually encouraged to take it! I think work-life balance, especially while working remotely, is really important to prevent burn out. I love the flexibility of work hours and vacation days that balance well with my personal life.

What separates Deliverr from other places you’ve worked?

Everyone I’ve worked with is super passionate and excited about Deliverr’s mission and driving it forward. I think that energy spreads and motivates everyone around you, which even while remote, creates a very positive and fun work environment.

What would be your one piece of advice for someone interested in the role?

Apply online! Engineering at Deliverr is growing so quickly and we’re always looking for new talent to join our team. Even if you don’t know if you’re a good fit, do it anyway!
