15 eCommerce conferences to attend in 2020

Update: Okay, so 2020 didn’t turn out to be the best year for conferences. Fortunately, Deliverr hosted a completely virtual eCommerce conference packed with multi-channel insights and strategies from marketplaces and top sellers. It’s all recorded here: Watch the Discoverr conference.

As eCommerce continues to evolve, it’s never been more important to stay on top of rising trends, best practices, and the newest technologies. One of the best ways to make sure you’re up-to-date is by attending eCommerce conferences and connecting with colleagues and industry experts both in your region and across the globe to learn, share, and grow.

Here are 15 conferences you don’t want to miss in 2020.

North American Conferences

1) Empowery (Los Angeles, California)

Empowery Women’s Conference will take place February 20-21, 2020 and is put on by women, for women, with only female presenters on-stage. It’s designed for Amazon sellers, retail arbitragers, and also for third-party or private sellers who’ve transitioned to their own Shopify or WooCommerce, in addition to or instead of, their Amazon storefronts.

Hosted by the Empowery eCommerce Cooperative, this event promises top-notch speakers, networking, and “epic fun” for women in business.

2) eTail West (Palm Springs, California)

From February 24-27, 2020, eTail West focuses on the United States’ market as it delivers speakers from across the American retail landscape. With retail expertise ranging from fashion and apparel to food and beverage, the eTail conference promises to offer insights into customer engagement, technology, and the biggest innovations in eCommerce to-date.

3) White Label World Expo (Las Vegas, Nevada)

The White Label World Expo will be held on February 26 – 27, 2020 in Las Vegas, and is a huge gathering of vendors, merchants, and eCommerce experts. With Alibaba as the event sponsor, sellers can look forward to a wide range of products and opportunities to expand their catalog with items they can see and experience firsthand.

In addition to shopping for new SKUs to add to your brand and expand your product range, this event provides valuable industry learning sessions from keynote speakers, seminars, panel sessions, and masterclasses.

4) DX3 (Toronto, ON)

The DX3 is Canada’s largest retail, technology, and marketing conference making it a must-visit in North America. Although the number of attendees (about 3000) is smaller than other international expos, the quality of DX3 is unmatched in Canada. Speaking sessions tend to fall into two categories: innovation and retail.

The summit will be held March 10-11, 2020 and weaves in tech talks, workshops, and even live music to keep the vibe upbeat and productive. On the show floor, you’ll see high-tech expositions of leading retail technologies.

5) Prosper Show (Las Vegas, Nevada)

The Prosper Show will be held from March 23 – 25, 2020, and is an eCommerce conference focused on Amazon sellers. More than 1,000 Amazon sellers attend Prosper Show to catch up with the latest Amazon updates and strategies, network, and meet service providers. The conference has more than 30 speakers who will cover customer experience, sales tax, chatbot usage, reviews, advertising, SEO, and more.

6) eTail Canada (Toronto, ON)

If you’re looking for something North of the border, consider eTail Canada in Toronto, ON from May 4-6, 2020. Similar to the eTail West conference, eTail Canada will feature trendsetters, visionaries, and trailblazers that are revolutionizing the industry. What’s not to love?

7) IRCE @ RetailX (Chicago, IL)

The Internet Retail Conference and Exhibition will return in 2020 from June 9-11, 2020, following last year’s must-attend show. You can look forward to an eclectic and exciting mix of developers, marketers, entrepreneurs, internet retail experts and investors for first-rate information and endless networking opportunities.

IRCE @ RetailX also features an exhibit hall of hundreds of vendors.

8) CommerceNext (New York, NY)

The 2-day retail conference at CommerceNext runs July 28-29, 2020 and aims to answer the question we’re all asking: what’s next in retail marketing? You can expect a big focus on the latest and greatest in digital marketing, online retail, and customer acquisition strategies along with great networking opportunities.

There’ll be 50 speaking sessions, with events featuring marketing VPs, data officers, and eCommerce directors behind some of the year’s top campaigns. We’re most looking forward to hearing about the CommmerceNextys – the conference’s awards show honoring innovations in eCommerce marketing and cross-channel campaigns.

9) eTail East (Boston, MA)

If Palm Springs or Toronto doesn’t work for you, there’s the eTail East conference in Boston, MA running August 10-13, 2020!

eTail conferences provide a great opportunity to network as the audiences feature some of the biggest players in retail. In 2019, nearly two-thirds of attendees were at the director-level or above.

European Conferences

1) White Label World Expo (Frankfurt, Germany)

The White Label Expo in Germany promises to 5,000 visitors, 200 speakers, 50 masterclasses, and 350 exhibitors. It’s an excellent 2-day event from May 6 – 7, 2020 to shop for new SKUs that you can add to your brand, meet and disuss with fellow merchants, and learn about the latest industry trends and techniques from speakers and masterclasses alike.

2) Savant eCommerce Conference (Major EU CIties)

Savant eCommerce Conference won’t have just one location in 2020 – it’s bringing the show to Berlin, Amsterdam, and Stockholm in January, March, and June respectively, followed by the Savant Supply Chain Congress 2020 event in May.

Their idea for 2020 was to cut down the sales pitches and recruiting and focus heavily on high-information content. This includes a mix of C-level, senior management, and director-level attendees sharing their knowledge and expertise in retail at varying speaking sessions.

3) eCommerce Expo London (London, UK)

The eCommerce Expo at ExCel London will take place September 30 – October 1, 2020 and promises to feature actionable insight derived from real-world data. The Expo is the largest gathering of eCommerce professionals in Europe and offers exhibitors and delegates the opportunity to present and connect with leading minds in the European retail space.

Session topics include eCommerce and mCommerce, digital and mobile marketing, payment and security, and fulfillment and delivery. More information is expected to be launched in March 2020.

Bonus: White Label World Expo (London, UK)

Although this event is in February 22 – 23, 2021, it’s still a good conference to keep an eye out for. Like counterparts in Frankfurt and Las Vegas, they promise a show of trending and innovative products that you can use to guide your sourcing strategy and grow your catalog.
