In addition to their restriction on non-essential items, Amazon has just updated FBA’s delivery times for most categories to 1 month, meaning sellers who use Deliverr to fulfill their Amazon orders can deliver more than 3 weeks faster than sellers on FBA.
“Amazon told consumers this past week that its paid-subscription Prime service is facing monthlong delays in shipping due to the coronavirus outbreak and that the company will focus on stocking and delivering higher-priority items.” – Amazon Prime suspends delivery promises; future of fast shipping under scrutiny
We searched for items on March 22, and saw delivery dates as late as April 21, almost an entire month later.
Online, merchants are already expressing concern over reduced FBA capacity, and how their businesses will be affected as a result.
Many merchants we’ve spoken to rely on Amazon as their main form of income, which means their and their employees’ livelihoods will be affected with the new FBA speeds making it difficult for buyers to get their products.
We encourage merchants to shift to Fulfilled by Merchant (FBM) models instead of FBA to keep customers happy and sales channels running smoothly.
You can either do this by yourself from home, or by outsourcing to a fulfillment provider like Deliverr. If you choose to move to Deliverr, here’s what we can promise.
3 Reasons to use Deliverr for FBM
1) Easy onboarding
Merchants can onboard with Deliverr in days, rather than months. You just have to sign up, send us your inventory, and then route orders to us for fulfillment. Learn more about the process here.
We never lock merchants into contracts, which means you can outsource your fulfillment to us as long as it works for your business.
Deliverr has transparent pricing, so you can immediately see how much you would have to pay to fulfill a certain item from order to door. No hidden fees or complicated billing that leaves you in the dark. Check out our cost calculator here.
2) Fast deliveries
If merchants have established sales history and meet the performance metrics on Amazon, they may be eligible for Premium Shipping, which could be used with Deliverr’s 1-day and 2-day rates.
This means that sellers could configure their Amazon listings with free expedited shipping. Note that manual shipping option mapping would need to be adjusted in the Deliverr portal.
3) Reliable, resilient fulfillment
Thanks to our asset-light business model, we can onboard new warehouses and expand as demand grows. That means we don’t have to turn away merchants just because our warehouses are full, or we don’t have enough resources to serve a certain location. This helps us serve as many businesses as possible, even during times of crisis.
