2019 Black Friday and Cyber Monday Recap

There was significant growth in 2019 Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, as consumers spent a record $7.4 billion online this Black Friday. This growth is reflected in what we’ve seen at Deliverr. In 2019, Deliverr saw a 3.7x lift in daily order volume compared to a typical Friday in October or November.

Significant sales growth

Deliverr merchants across the board saw massive growth in sales, not just from a regular Friday, but even compared to Black Friday last year. We saw roughly 3.7x the volume of our average day in November.

The most growth we saw this year compared to Black Friday last year came from a Deliverr merchant who sells electronic picture frames, followed by a merchant who sells baking tools.

Merchants from the following categories saw a higher lift in Black Friday sales in 2019 compared to last year.

  • Cooking accessories
  • Games and toys
  • Arts and crafts

When it came to Cyber Monday, sales increased by a healthy amount, but we didn’t see huge outliers. The biggest sales increase compared to Cyber Monday last year was for a games seller.

Merchants from the categories below saw an increase in Cyber Monday sales in 2019 compared to last year.

  • Jewelry and accessories
