Peak season adjustments to inventory removals and storage fees

Updated October 12, 2022.

Stocking up to avoid stocking out is a strategy many commerce merchants use. But inventory levels at a fulfillment center don’t always align with projected demand when it matters most.

It’s crucial that items are readily available to ship during peak season by having the right inventory (and enough of it) on the shelves at your fulfillment center(s). This means removing any slow-moving SKUs and shipping them to a single given location or investing in storage.

No matter which approach is right for your business, you’ll want enough lead-time to get the job done. That’s why we want to let you know about important adjustments to our inventory removal service and storage fees during peak.

Adjustments to inventory removals

⏲️ Deadlines: The last day we will accept removal orders and commit to processing before Thanksgiving is November 1, 2022.

💸 Pricing: Inventory removal fees will remain at $0.36 + $0.39 per lb, per unit. This covers the cost of picking, packing, and shipping the inventory to a single given location within the contiguous U.S.*

🤝 SLAs: Removal orders will be fulfilled within 30 business days (typically 10-14 business days outside of peak).

👷 Services impacted: The above pricing and SLA changes apply to removals, disposals, and liquidations. Expect processing delays during peak outbounding week (November 23-30, 2022) for these services.

Important note for inventory nearing long-term storage: We recommend removing any DSKUs that will be nearing long-term storage (365 days or longer) between November 2022 and January 2023 before the November 1 removal restriction deadline. Applicable merchants will be notified by our Support team via email with more information if action is needed.

*At this time, Deliverr is not able to customize removal orders to adhere to other fulfillment service’s packaging specifications.

Changes to standard storage fees

💸 Pricing: From October 1 through December 31, standard storage fees will cost $0.080 per cubic foot per day ($2.40 per cubic foot over 30 days).

This fee is dependent on the length, width, and height of a SKU and the number of units of said SKU in inventory. Follow these steps in your Seller Portal account to calculate the estimated monthly storage cost for a specific SKU:

  1. Navigate to the inventory tab from the left navigation bar
  2. Click on a specific product to see the inventory details page
  3. Select the ‘Ecom fulfillment storage fees’ tab to review fee details
